In-Situ Barrel honing and Cylindrical Grinding.
The Process.
We have developed a unique Mobile Honing Machine (Patent Pending) and on-site honing service which allows bi-metallic single extruder barrels (from 67mm to 200+mm diameter and up to 6.5m long) to be honed 'in-situ', either to a predetermined size to suit an existing or newly refurbished screw, or to clean-up and a screw is then finish ground to suit the barrel. Nitrided barrels can be re-finished and light scratches/wear removed. Vented barrels can be ground over the vent area using our specially designed internal grinding attachment (still under development).

The Benefits.
Using this service in conjunction with your present screw manufacturer / refurbisher, or one of our partners, can substantially reduce downtime, potentially to less than 24 hours for what is effectively a full refurbishment and also free's up your maintenance staff for other duties.
Customers who have previously replaced three or four nominal sized screws for every new barrel will notice significant increases in production output and regain control over their melt temperatures.
We Need.
1 x 32A 3ph+N+E socket within 25 metres of your machine, 1 x Airline outlet, maximum 5cfm, a clear area at the front of the extruder approximately equal to the length of the barrel, from output end to feed throat.
